Wardrobe Stylist SHIRLEY KURATA worked with Aaron Ruell on jobs for Illinois Lottery (Biscuit) and LG Mobile. She also worked with director Ted Pauly (Furlined) on a spot for Target.
NEWS: MICHAEL SCHMELLING
Photographer/Director MICHAEL SCHMELLING spent the past month in Atlanta, GA finishing his next book project. He also shot Rich Kidz for XXL, and did a new OP-ED illustration for THE NEW YORK TIMES, continuing his forays into design work. Be sure to pick up a copy of SHOOT (Rizzoli), a collection of ‘photography of the moment’ by Stephen Shore, Nan Goldin, Walter Pfeiffer, Boris Mikhailov, Wolfgang Tillmans, Juergen Teller, Mark Borthwick, Ari Marcopoulos, Hiromix, Glynnis McDaris, Linus Bill, Jason Nocito, Yurie Nagashima, Tim Barber, Peter Sutherland, JH Engstrom, Dash Snow, Kenneth Cappello, Louise Enhorning, Michael Schmelling, Nacho Alegre, Ola Rindal, Paul Schiek, Madi Ju, Jaimie Warren and Thomas Jeppe. Photographs from Michael’s own book THE PLAN are on view at Partners & Spade on Great Jones St. in New York by appointment. He participated in the NY ART BOOK FAIR with a video presentation of The Plan with J+L Books, and also created a series of unique mailed photographs. Michael has work in a group show called “Itchy And Scratchy” curated by Jason Evans at Permanent Gallery in Brighton UK for those across the pond.

NEWS: LAUREN DUKOFF
Photographer LAUREN DUKOFF hasn’t taken a break all month, shooting for the likes of L’UOMO VOGUE, SOMA, NYLON and ROLLING STONE. She spent a few days in San Francisco documenting the band Rogue Wave for Brushfire Records.

JEREMY & CLAIRE WEISS just returned from Melbourne where they were the guest speakers at Semi-Permanent, a week-long event celebrating all things design (including photography). They spent a few days in Sydney, as well, hanging with our friends over at Monster Children. You can read more about their latest adventures (and what they wore for Halloween) on their blog. The duo shot Rivers Cuomo for the latest issue of ROLLING STONE, on stands now.

Congratulations to AARON RUELL and his wife on the birth of their daughter this week! She’s already well documented and as pretty as a … picture. Here is a photo of her taken right after she was born, they grow up so fast!
