AARON RUELL IS NO LONGER A FASHION VIRGIN
Creativity Online recently interviewed Aaron about his latest fashion spread in Paper Magazine, here’s a little excerpt:
Director/Photographer Aaron Ruell, repped out of Biscuit, is known for his quirky characters and keen art direction, evident in his recent print work for LG as well as his spots for NBCNewYork.com, Burger King and others. Paper Magazine recently tapped him to shoot his first fashion assignment ever, for its March/April spring issue. Although shooting waify models and posh duds isn’t really his cup of tea, Ruell agreed to do the project as long as he could shoot at San Luis Obispo, California’s fabled resort hotel the Madonna Inn —his childhood summer mecca and home of spectacularly preserved kitsch.

GIANT WELCOMES EMILY SHUR
We are pleased to announce photographer EMILY SHUR has joined the Giant Artists Family! Check her out here. We love her flawless eye for light, color and composition and her mix of bright, often humorous, portraits and landscapes. Whether shooting a well-known celebrity or an inanimate object, Emily infuses her subjects with importance, humor and a singular point-of-view. Her work has been featured in Communication Arts (2005) and selected for publication in American Photography 22, 24 and 25 (2006, 2008 and 2009). In 2005, Emily was selected as a winner in The Art Director’s Club Young Guns global competition. In 2008, she was honored to have an image in the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London. In 2009, Emily was one of 100 photographers invited to participate in Review Santa Fe, and this year her work will be included in Humble Art’s 31 Women in Art Photography exhibition.
Today, Emily lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their dog, The Baroness, in a 105 year-old house in Echo Park.
