MICHAEL SCHMELLING shared his top 10 photo books of 2010 with Photoeye here.  He worked with DETAILS, NEW YORK MAGAZINE, WIRED, and NYLON GUYS, and did some hand lettering and illustration for Rodrigo Corral Design.  Michael’s book, ATLANTA, received 3.5 stars from ROLLING STONE.  His solo show at Clamp Art opens Friday, February 11th in NYC.  We hope you’ll join us!

RJ was asked by VICE UK to photograph someone that is important to him.
He decided to take this amazing photo of Jake Trott.

As told by RJ:
“Jake Trott is known for his continuous attempts to quit smoking cigarettes, as well as the time an art director exploded a water balloon on his crotch at a fancy dress dinner. He once also got hit in the balls during a tomato fight in Spain.  Jake is my digital tech, my second set of eyes, my support system, my fire starter, guidance counselor and friend. I owe him a lot.”

The Giant Artists NOW book was not only our agency promo item this year (as I’m sure you’re all aware if you read our blog), but it was an exciting experiment and a personal project that was very dear to us.  We could not be happier with the response we’re getting from clients, artists, friends and family.  Friends of Giant, Sacha Lecca (Photo Editor at Rolling Stone) and Sandy Boss Febbo (Executive Art Producer at Carmichael Lynch) spoke very highly of our book this week on Jasmine DeFoore’s blog.  Jasmine did a three part series about self-promo and interviewed highly respected folks in the Editorial, Entertainment and Advertising industries, including Sandy and Sacha- who both gave us shout-outs.  Thanks, guys, it really means a lot!

Below is the logo, creative direction / illustration and print campaign that ran in the New York Times San Francisco edition.

The creative direction will be part of a 2011 media buy that runs across web, print, TV and social media.
